Agricultural and Marine Cooperation, Extension and Information Administration
And it shall assume the powers assigned to it according to Cabinet Resolution No. (101) for the year 2012 AD referred to, through the following sections:
First: The Agricultural Cooperation Department, with the following powers:
Study and review procedures for establishing and publicizing agricultural cooperative societies in accordance with the legislation regulating this and supervising them in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Take the necessary measures to dissolve, liquidate and merge cooperative societies operating in the sector, and take the necessary measures in this regard, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Reviewing budgets and final accounts of cooperative societies and adopting them in coordination with the relevant authorities.
All statistics and data on the numbers of animals and birds of the peasants and forward them to the relevant authorities.
Organize membership in agricultural societies and prepare data on tenure in terms of numbers of animals, trees, agricultural units, etc.
Registering the headquarters of the agricultural societies belonging to the sector in the name of the Libyan state.
Keep records of agricultural societies and include all data therein.
Follow up the application of the documentary session of the agricultural societies in accordance with the established regulations.
To suggest cooperative societies’ support in terms of providing financial and investment loans and to develop solutions to the problems they face.
Preparing periodic reports and statistics related to the progress of work in the field of agricultural cooperation in the regions.
Submit periodic reports on the department’s work progress.
Second: The Agricultural Extension Department, with the following competencies:
Preparing agricultural extension plans and programs in the field of agricultural, animal and marine production in cooperation with the competent authorities and working to implement them.
Simplifying and applying the results of agricultural research and studies and transferring them to farmers in the regions.
Follow up the implementation of the extension programs by all available means in coordination with the agricultural, livestock and marine sectors in the regions.
Dissemination of scientific methods and modern technologies to increase production, protect natural and environmental resources, and rationalize their use.
Preparing brochures, publications, and informative posters, and setting up seminars and extension fields and participating in them in cooperation with the specialized offices in the agricultural sector in the regions.
Cooperation and coordination with the corresponding departments in the sector in the regions in implementing the sector’s indicative plan.
Implementing programs related to rural and environmental development in a manner that achieves the sector’s goals in this field.
Preparing reports on agricultural extension and referring them to the competent authorities.
Submit periodic reports on the department’s work progress.
Third: The Agricultural Information Department, with the following powers:
Implementing the agricultural, animal and marine media plan through preparing and implementing programs, audiovisual works, media, informative and educational readers, and broadcasting them through the main and local radio stations in coordination with the relevant departments.
Preparation and implementation of documentary guides.
Visual documentation of the results of applied scientific research and the Ministry’s activities.
Create and organize the audiovisual and read agricultural library in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Printing flyers, informative posters, magazines and informational informative publications and distributing them in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Organizing agricultural, animal and marine exhibitions, participating in the corresponding exhibitions, preparing conferences, seminars and production competitions related to the activities of the sector, organizing competitions and linking the relationship with international exhibitions in coordination with the International Cooperation Office.
Suggesting informational and indicative plans and programs and implementation mechanisms.
Submit periodic reports on the department’s work progress.
