First: The Education Department, with the following competencies:
Develop plans, programs and studies related to raising the productive capacity of animal breeds (farm animals).
Define animal production targets nationwide for red and white meat, table eggs, wool and leather, and compare them to needs.
Setting plans and executive programs necessary to bridge the deficit between the targets and needs.
Setting technical and educational specifications for animal breeds and embryos that are in line with the conditions of breeding and the local environment.
Setting technical specifications for production and operation requirements.
Create a database on the various animal production activities so that they are the reference for preparing future plans and programs.
Participation with the relevant authorities in preparing informative and informational programs in the field of animal production, which contributes to raising the efficiency and performance of breeders.
Participate in setting the necessary plans and programs to benefit from the results of scientific research related to the development and improvement of animal breeds
Participation in international exhibitions, seminars, studies and conferences in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Work to introduce modern technologies and work to provide advanced devices and equipment in the fields of education.
Setting the necessary controls and procedures to grant approval for practicing the activity for the various fields of animal production.
Establishing programs for the development and development of industries based on animal production.
Preparing periodic and technical reports on the department’s work.
Second: The Nutrition Department, which is specialized in the following: –
Developing plans and studies related to improving animal nutrition.
Working on the optimum utilization of local raw materials that are not utilized in the feed industry to reduce the cost of feed.
Participate in developing the necessary plans and programs to cope with droughts.
Establishing laboratories in the various areas with a high density of animal husbandry and providing requirements for their operation of chemical, biological equipment, equipment and materials.
Participate in setting the standard specifications for fodder and raw materials and submit proposals for their development or modification in a way that contributes to raising production rates.
Carry out chemical analyzes of fodder and raw materials, and identify their compliance with Libyan standards, as well as analysis of pasture plants to determine their nutritional value.
Carry out the necessary analyzes of the minor and major minerals of the feed, as well as the safety acids and vitamins (identification of milk components).
Carry out the necessary analysis to ensure the safety of feed and raw materials and that they are free from harmful viruses and bacteria.
Coordination with research authorities related to animal nutrition in preparing research and practical studies, participating in its implementation and working to publish the results and their application.
Issuing official certificates for feed and raw materials analysis.
Establish a mechanism to link the central laboratory to international reference laboratories.
Help in preparing brochures and advisory programs in the field of animal nutrition.
Preparing periodic and technical reports for the department.
Third: The Technical Affairs Department, with the following competencies:
Develop studies related to the development and improvement of animal production to keep pace with economic and technical developments.
Follow up on all animal production projects, prepare technical reports on them, and propose solutions to problems they may encounter.
Preparing economic feasibility studies for animal production projects proposed for implementation.
Documenting meetings and conferences and all information, data and statistics related to the work of the department.
Exchanging information and data with local and international agencies, authorities and organizations in the field of animal production.
Follow up the implementation of agreements and minutes of technical cooperation in animal production.
Participate in setting the technical and educational specifications for animal breeds with the relevant authorities.
Developing plans and programs to train workers from different regions in the field of animal production.
Participation in meetings, seminars and seminars related to the areas of animal production.
Participate in developing informative and informative programs in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Work to activate the role of the private sector and encourage it to carry out small and medium projects in animal production activities, through coordination with funding institutions.
Implement relevant and relevant legislation and laws to facilitate the work of the Animal Production Department.
Preparing periodic reports related to the work of the department and its affiliated entities.
Carry out follow-up work and supervise the works implemented in the Ministry’s agricultural projects and prepare periodic reports thereon.
